The FBCA Performing Arts Academy exists as a formal instruction studio that mentors and disciplines the study of musical performance.  We strive for quality by instilling musicianship and control through technique and professionalism.  Most of our instructors are professional educators with specific qualifications in musical pedagogy and performance.

  • No lessons during Spring Break (April 10-14)

  • Recital: Tuesday, May 16 at 7pm, FBCA Auditorium

Policies and Procedures

Instruction
Lessons are given in weekly 30-minute sessions via private instruction.  They are scheduled through the instructor and are based on his or her schedule.  In addition to lessons, students will have the opportunity to participate in a recital at the end of the semester. 

 

Child Protection
All lessons will take place within the church facility and in rooms equipped with video surveillance for the protection of all parties.  In addition, background checks are acquired for all instructors prior to their hire.

 

Practice
You are committing to practice at home.  Lessons will not be effective if you do not put time and effort into learning your instrument.

 

Attendance / Absences / Make-ups
Please make every effort to attend each lesson.  If a student needs to miss a lesson for any reason, a 24-hour notice must be given to the instructor.  Failure to do so will result in forfeiting a make-up lesson.  There is a maximum of two excused absences per semester and anything further will forfeit a make-up.

 

Weather Policy
In the event of inclement weather, lesson cancellation will be determined by the instructor.  Students will be informed directly by their instructor whether or not the lesson will need to be cancelled and rescheduled.
