Jesus’ final instruction to His Church was “you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8. Our mission is His Great Commission; to take the Good News of God’s saving grace "Across the Street and Around the World".
Everything we do must begin with Prayer, Prayer is the foundation upon which all else that is built . Without abundant prayer whatever else we do will be done in vain. “As for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the LORD by failing to pray…” 1 Samuel 12:23
As our illustration shows, prayer is the undergirding that supports us in all that we do - whether it’s going Across the Street in Our Jerusalem or across the state in Our Judea. It could be going into North America, Our Samaria, or Around the World to the Ends of the Earth. I may be responding to a call for Disaster Relief or dispensing the Gospel through Literacy Missions. Making disciples is our act of carrying out The Great Commission in our daily lives. Making disciples results in multiplying new Believers, which will result in planting churches.
One of the primary reasons that FBC Arnold exists is “…for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ.” Eph 4:12
